Akshay Oberoi looks back on Pizza on its eighth anniversary
Down nostalgia lane: Akshay Oberoi on 8 years of Pizza
Taking the road less travelled often, actor Akshay Oberoi is happy to be part of stories that make an impact and are told with sensitivity. His tryst with stories that matter is marked with Pizza, a horror film that acquired a cult status with time. Oberoi’s first horror film now clocks in eight years. Going down memory lane, the actor shares what it was like headlining a horror film.
Akshay says, “When the film was offered to me everything about it intrigued me. I was happy that it gave me the opportunity to attempt the horror genre. It was all kinds of new and exciting for me. What I love about Pizza is that it was nothing like the horror films that were being made at the time. A big thanks to everyone who made it special.”
Pizza tells the story of a delivery boy Kunal (played by Oberoi) whose mundane life takes a horrifying turn when he is off to deliver a pizza to the home of a family with a dark secret. The plot of the film hangs on the suspense of whether or not Kunal overcomes the apparent evil that lurks in the shadows.
On the work front, he will next be seen in projects such as Gaslight along with Sara Ali Khan, Vikrant Massey and Chitrangada Singh, Varchasva along with Ravi Kishan and Tridha Choudhary and a social satire titled Ek Kori Prem Katha.
